The Ensemble Theatre Founder’s Circle is a leadership giving group of diverse investors and stewards committed to ensuring the theatre continues as Houston’s premier center for African-American artistic expression. Overall the campaign has raised over half a million dollars in individual gifts.

A major supporter presented the theatre with a $75,000 matching gift challenge during the 2012 inaugural campaign year. Under the leadership of fellow committee members Audrey and the Rev. William A. Lawson, and Michelle and Reggie Hedgebeth, the challenge was met and exceeded its goal of over $250,000 to enhance the theatre’s endowment and other financial support. Lifetime Board Member Brenda Peters-Chase and Micheal Helm served as the Campaign Chairs who guided the effort. Each year the Founder's Circle campaign is chaired by an ever growing group of illustrious leaders.
