Don’t Worry Willy

Written by ELIZABETH UNAEZE
Musical Direction by ALANA SCOTT

A high-stakes test turns a 5th-grade classroom into a whirlwind of anxiety, self-doubt, and support. William "Willy" T. Bear, an imaginative but anxious student, escapes into the Willyverse—a world where his emotions take shape. Willy must learn to manage his emotions. Guided by their lively teacher, Miss Bovine Longhorn, and the wise Pokey Toes Turtle III, all of the students in class discover coping strategies, friendship, and self-acceptance. Through music and storytelling, Don’t Worry Willy explore social-emotional learning, neurodiversity, and self-expression—reminding young audiences that it’s okay to feel, struggle, and be themselves.

NOT YOUR ORDINARY FAIRY TALE...The hottest new play to hit Fairway (Broadway for Fairytale actors) is The Three Pigs Remix, and every fairytale actor in the land is dying to get into the audition for this musical. Papa Polar Bear must have a TON of patience with Little Red Riding Hood when she tries out for the dancing diva Party Pig. Everyone must keep their tempers from flaring when Non-fiction Ned trips over everything, including his own two feet. There's certainly no business-like show business.

While stuck in detention, a student, Jayden, ends up with a book that takes him on an inspirational, entertaining, and musical journey. On his “walk” through the decades, he learns of how a young John Lewis was moved to protest injustice and ultimately become a leader and American hero. As Jayden relives John’s past, he experiences what it was like for John to first meet Rosa Parks and Dr. King, and he eventually comes to realize that he too can take a stand, and help to influence the struggle for social, political, and overall equality and justice among all people.
