The Ensemble Theatre's Young Performers Program (YPP) is an intensive performing arts training program that offers introductory to intermediate level training in the theatre arts.
The YPP has been in existence since 1985 and has produced many outstanding artists who have gone on to perform on Broadway, in movies, for Disney, recording companies and a plethora of other professions. YPP is designed to nurture a love and discipline in the arts that combines all facets of the performing arts - theatre, music, dance, technical training, creative writing, and cultural studies - that culminates in a student-led production.

How to Register
For NEW Incoming Students ONLY:
As it is with every professional theatre, auditions are held to appropriately
cast each production. Each student interested in becoming a part of the Young Performers Program will need to audition and participate in a parent/student interview.
The audition process is simply to experience each students’ individual interests in the arts and talents they feel they will bring to the program. The interview process is for us to get to know the student and share
the parental support that accompanies every young performer.
- Submit a completed registration form & non-refundable $50 fee
- Once registration is complete, each student will receive a date and time for their interview and audition
- Each student should prepare a one-minute monologue
- A song and/or dance if requested
Each student accepted into the YPP will receive an “Acceptance Letter” via email no later than May 1, 2023. We ask that parents not call to confirm acceptance, as it will be difficult to respond to all calls.
For RETURNING Young Performers ONLY:
- Submit a completed registration form & non-refundable $50 fee
- Choose requested session
- Submit tuition payment

About Our Young Performers Program
The Young Performers Program (YPP) is an exciting, energizing and intensive performing arts program for youth ages 6-17 who want to explore their creative and artistic talents. Since 1985, more than 4,000 Houston-area youth have participated in YPP, including some who are now professionals on Broadway, film and television, and a variety of other successful careers.
We combine the study of theatre, dance, music, arts education, technical skill, creative dramatics and performance for a well-rounded educational experience. Four sessions are held throughout the year: Spring Break (one week), two month-long Summer Break sessions, and Winter Break (one week).
The program offers an introductory overview of the arts through theatre, dance and music motivating youth to use theatre as a means to explore and inspire.
Each session culminates in a production that encompasses all of the taught disciplines.
