About Our Young Performers Program

The Young Performers Program (YPP) is where young artists step into their confidence, discover their voice, and bring stories to life on stage. Designed for youth ages 6–17, YPP offers an exciting and immersive performing arts experience for those ready to explore their creativity and grow as artists.

Since 1985, more than 4,000 Houston-area youth have trained through YPP—many going on to careers on Broadway, in film, television, and beyond. Through training in acting, dance, music, and technical theatre, students receive a well-rounded arts education that builds confidence, discipline, collaboration, and creative expression. Throughout the year, students can participate in Spring Break, Summer, and Winter sessions—each offering a unique and engaging creative experience.

YPP inspires young people to explore their identity, express their ideas, and connect with others through the power of performance. Each session culminates in a fully staged production, where students showcase their growth, talent, and hard work in front of a live audience. Ready to take the stage? Our teaching artists are professionals who have honed their craft and now are paying it forward as they pour in and impart into young lives, just as the Young Performer Program did for them.
