Dear Ensemble Theatre Family,
The Ensemble Theatre joins other institutions in response to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) by cancelling the reminder of its 2019-2020 season and annual fundraising gala.
“This is a challenging time for our nonprofit cultural arts institutions,” says Eileen J. Morris, Artistic Director. “Cancelling a season is crushing but we thrive in creativity and our stories will go on as we explore alternate ways to connect with our communities through the arts.”
Remaining performances in the theatre’s season and other cancellations include:
Autumnby Richard Wesley
Beatbox: A Raparetta by Tommy Shepherd & Dan Wolf
Respect: A Musical Journey of Women by Dorothy Marcic
Act One, The Ensemble Theatre’s young professional group was gearing up to celebrate April as National Poetry Month by hosting their 9th Annual Drama-try: A Dramatic Night of Poetry showcase.
The annual black-tie gala normally held in August is The Ensemble Theatre’s largest fundraising endeavor.
“We are all having to make difficult decisions affecting our staff, artists, and audiences but we are resilient and will make it through,” says Janette L. Cosley, Executive Director.
In response to the cancellations The Ensemble Theatre board and staff are accessing the impact of the shutdown and developing creative strategies to engage patrons. Updates will be shared via The Ensemble Theatre’s website, email, and social media platforms:
