Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

Set in Mississippi at the height of the Depression, this is the story of one family’s struggle to maintain their integrity, pride and independence in the face of racism and social injustice. And, too, it is Cassie’s story – Cassie Logan, an independent girl who discovers over the course of an important year why having land of their own is so crucial to the Logan family, even as she learns to draw strength from her own sense of dignity and self-respect.

P.Nokio: A Hip Hop Musical is a contemporary adaptation of The Adventures of Pinocchio. G.Petto is a video game designer, and P.Nokio is one of his designs that magically comes to life. Arming P.Nokio with a sacred “Book of Rhymes,” G.Petto sends his new son to The Old School to master style, originality, and swagger.

Tracing Barbara Jordan's journey from her childhood in Houston's Fifth Ward neighborhood through her election to the United State Congress, I Barbara Jordan introduces students to a legendary Texas politician who was a model for the power of perseverance.
